Sunday, March 25, 2012 Announcements

  1. Today - We’ll have a brief meeting for anyone who’s interested during coffee hour to talk about the emerging vision for the event and people’s willingness to help out for Family Fun Day May 20th.
  2. We’ll collect money throughout Lent for Nets for Life.  Our buzzing mosquitoes netted $384 to date! Bzzzz!
  3. Spirit Correction - Easter Basket workshop on April 7 at 9:00am, please bring goodies by March 31.
  4. Mother Anna, Father Butch, and any interested St. Mary’s members will be participating on Monday, April 2, in a Diocesan pilgrimage to the US-Mexico Border.   Please pray for us, and talk to us if you’d like to come along! Read more »

  1. Today – Vestry Sunday – (Bilingual all parish service).  No 7:30 or 11:45 a.m. services.
  2. We’re beginning to plan our Family Fun Day for May 20! We’ll have a brief meeting for anyone who’s interested during coffee hour next Sunday, March 25, to talk about the emerging vision for the event and people’s willingness to help out.
  3. March 20, Tuesday at 6:00pm at St. Thomas Church in Hacienda Heights, EAM/LA will sponsor a talk “The Asian Episcopal/ Anglican relationship with The Episcopal Church”.
  4. All are invited to attend the Diocesan Ministry Fair, entitled “What’s Next for You?” At Campbell Hall School on Saturday, March 24.  Registration and more information at www.ladiocese.org.

  1. We welcome Brother Ambrose as our preacher at 9:45 a.m. service today.
  2. If you didn’t get to make a contribution to the Japanese Convocation EAM Scholarship’s Education fund on February 19, please just mark a check “Japanese Convocation Scholarship”, and place in envelope in the collection plate.

All are welcome to join us this Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 4:00pm for The Celebration of a New Ministry!  St. Mary’s Episcopal Church welcomes The Reverend Anna Burns Olson as their Fifth Rector of the Parish.  The Right Reverend Diane Bruce, Presiding.   Let us offer prayers for Mother Anna and St. Mary’s as they continue in this ministry.  Reception following service.   2. Today, Japanese convocation education/scholarship fundraiser.  All loose plate offering will benefit the Convocation.  Special donations encouraged.  Please make checks to St. Mary’s and mark “Japanese Convocation in memo line.
  3. Wednesday, February 22 – Ash Wednesday services at 12:00pm and 7:00pm.
  4. Next Sunday!: February 26, 4pm.  Mo. Anna’s installation.  This will be our only service for the day.

Today – Annual Meeting.  In addition to hearing reports on the life of our congregation, we will elect four new vestry members to three-year terms and four delegates and one alternate to the 2012 Diocesan Convention.   Nominees for Vestry are Shenniffer Aldana, Alda Cabral, Craig Stewart and Erik Suzuki.  Nominees for Diocesan Convention are Dr. Gayle Kawahara, Kathryn Nishibayashi, Dr. Steve Nishibayashi, Greg Sata, and Michelle Kuruma (alternate).
  2. Save the date:  Sunday, February 26, 4pm.  Mo. Anna’s installation.
