Today! – Family Fun Day Now!
We welcome Trinity Church this morning!
Today! – There is an effort underway to start a fun and friendly youth group at St. Mary’s! If you are a middle-school or high-school student, and you like to have FUN, all while focusing on learning and community service, meet and greet with Melissa M. at 1pm to get your ideas about how we can make this a fun group for the youths of St. Mary’s. Our June schedule will be a little different from usual. June 3 will be one bilingual service and vestry meeting. The rest of June will be regular schedule.

Informal meet and greet with Melissa M. at 1pm to get your ideas about how we can make this a fun group for the youths of St. Mary’s. We’ve made a few large print copies of the liturgy booklet. Ask the ushers if you would like one.
The Mother’s Day flower sale will be held May 12-13. Flower arrangements ranging from $10 to $50 and corsages (single $8 double $12) can be pre-ordered from Marian Kubota 310-827-3634 or Kazumi Suzuki 323-721-3890. Anyone willing to help create these floral pieces are asked to be at church on Saturday, May 12 at 9am.
A big thank you to Glenn Kubota for his donation of an iPad for the church’s use. Look for lots more cool photos and video online soon.

[April 30 -- From the Bishop's Office] -- Bishop Jon Bruno thanks everyone for the outpouring of prayers and love that he has received since his April 26 diagnosis with acute monocytic leukemia. He has begun intensive chemotherapy at the City of Hope, to which he transferred on April 27. His medical team continues to evaluate the effectiveness of this particular protocol and to determine next steps of treatment. The Bishop remains actively engaged in leadership of the Diocese; however, because he is in protective isolation, he cannot receive visits, calls or flowers at this time. Cards are very welcome and may be sent to the Cathedral Center, 840 Echo Park Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90026. Mary Bruno and the Bruno family join the Bishop in thanking everyone for the many expressions of ongoing support and prayer. Please note: Links to Bishop Bruno's April 26 message to the Diocese are contained in previous posts to the diocesan FB page. As the Bishop stated, the Bishop's Office will continue to provide regular updates as his treatment continues.

As we move close to the 12th anniversary of my consecration on April 29, I am looking forward to the future, yet any time we make too many plans, we have to wait and listen for God.

REST IN PEACE: JUDITH BUSH FLETCHER

It is with sadness that we inform you that Judith (Judy) Fletcher passed away peacefully early Friday, April 13, surrounded by her family after a long illness. She is survived by her husband, Richard; son, Michael; daughter in law, Elisa; and grandchildren, Daniel and Belen.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 11:30 am at Fukui Mortuary, 707 Temple Street, Los Angeles, California. Casual dress is encouraged. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles or your favorite charity.

Please keep Richard’s family in your prayers as they celebrate her life and mourn her passing.

Longtime St. Mary’s member Sanae Sugiyama passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012. There will be a graveside service at 11am on Thursday, April 26 at Westminster Memorial Park (14801 Beach Blvd, Westminster, CA 92683 ).
